Screening Colonoscopy Recommendations
Lynch Surgical Group
01
Intro
Welcome to the Lynch Surgical Group's information page on screening colonoscopy recommendations. Our practice is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care, following the latest guidelines to ensure the well-being of our patients.
03
Recommendations for Average Risk Patients
According to the NCCN guidelines, patients aged 45 to 75 years who are at average risk for colorectal cancer and have a normal colonoscopy should have a follow-up interval of 10 years for repeat colonoscopy.
02
Why Screening is Important
Colorectal cancer is a preventable disease when detected early. Regular screening is the most effective way to reduce your risk.
04
Recommendations for High-Risk Patients
Patients with a history of adenomatous polyps should receive a surveillance colonoscopy with an interval of 3 or more years since their last procedure.
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) is an excellent resource for both cancer screening and treatment. Visit their website for more: https://www.nccn.org/patientresources
